This Privacy Policy describes how South Carolina Registered Agent.org ("we," "us," "our") handles information gathered through scregisteredagent.org (the "Site") and through our registered agent service.

When you enroll or reach out, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, business entity name and type, South Carolina Secretary of State filing number, and payment details (handled by a third-party payment processor — we don't store full card numbers ourselves).

Information collected automatically. Standard browsing data: pages viewed, time on site, referring page, browser and device type, an approximate location derived from IP address, and cookies that keep the Site functioning.

How We Use It

• To act as your South Carolina registered agent — accepting, scanning, and posting documents to your portal
• To process enrollment and renewal payments
• To send compliance reminders relevant to your entity structure
• To respond to questions and support requests
• To improve the Site based on how it's actually used
• To detect fraud, enforce our Terms of Service, and meet legal obligations

Who Sees Your Information

We don't sell personal information. Limited sharing occurs only where necessary:

• Payment processors, to complete transactions
• Hosting and email infrastructure providers, to run the Site and service
• The South Carolina Secretary of State, as required when we act as your agent of record
• Courts or law enforcement, when compelled by valid legal process
• Professional advisors (accountants, attorneys) bound by confidentiality who support our operations

Data Security

We apply reasonable technical and administrative safeguards — encryption in transit, access controls, periodic review — to protect the information you share with us. No system connected to the internet is completely secure, and we can't promise information will never be exposed.

How Long We Keep It

We retain your information for as long as your account is active, plus a reasonable period afterward to satisfy legal, tax, and dispute-resolution needs. Scanned documents follow our standard retention schedule.

Cookies

The Site uses cookies for session handling and to understand visitor behavior. You can disable cookies through your browser, though some Site features may not work correctly without them.
